Craving a New Clarisonic

Not to toot my own horn but I've had my Clarisonic for years now.  I just wanted to note that I bought it before Oprah put it on her favorite things list and it started selling like hotcakes.  I remember trying to describe it to my work friends and the unanimous reply was, "Why would you need a brush for your face."

Since I bought it years ago, the only color then was plain old boring white.  Now they have every color imaginable, at least in the Mia, and even the regular and Plus styles are starting to come in beautiful designs and colors.

In reality, a lot of the designs are rather busy and I would probably get tired of something that's orange and pink in a year but it really makes me want a new Clarisonic.  If they come out with a design that is blue and green you can bet I'll be getting it.  I think I could excuse it since my current one needs to be charged every day instead of holding it for a week like it's supposed to.

On a side note for those of you who have never used a Clarisonic, when I first bought mine I expected it to immediately clear up all breakouts, dry skin, oily skin, etc.  The thing to keep in mind is that yes, it works and can make a significant difference in your skin but it takes time and the right face wash.  I was never a big fan of the Clarisonic brand cleanser that came with the brush so I tried a lot of different washes and eventually settled on Kate Somerville's Detox Daily Cleanser.

These days I'm using my beloved Arcona Bars and they are worth the price.  I rotate the Toner Tea Bar and the Raspberry Clarifying Bar.  These foam up nicely by rubbing the bar on the brush bristles and adding some water.  Definitely apply to a wet face.  An aesthetician recommended cutting the bar in quarters and keeping the parts you're not using in a dry place outside of the shower.  This will help the bar last longer without affecting it's performance.

More on Arcona coming soon since I made a trip to my favorite spa boutique today to stock up on some favorites including Magic White Ice, Desert Mist and Triad Pads.  They had a little kit of travel-sized products full of lovely little serums I haven't tried before and I just couldn't resist.  I'm going to give them a test run and will let you know my thoughts on the Arcona Nourish - Repair kit soon.
