So I finally joined Birchbox...

There seem to be a dozen different beauty product sample subscription services these days. There's Glossybox, BeautyBar Sample Society with Allure, New Beauty Test Tube and Birchbox to name a few.

For whatever reason I decided to join Birchbox for $10 a month. I was in full-on Baby Brain Mode the first month after Imogen was born so I don't really remember why I chose Birchbox. I've received two boxes so far and I hate to say it but I'm a bit, well, underwhelmed.

I was disappointed with my first box because I didn't get some of the items that were supposed to be included. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt since I joined pretty late in the month and they may not have had enough samples left to send to all the new members. I also may have had unreasonable expectations about the size and number of items I'd receive in the box.

My second box arrived the other day and it did have the promised items so that made me happy. It's also pretty fun to get a monthly box of beauty-related fun. I've been liking the Supergoop Anti-Aging Sunscreen Serum so far and I do like the Jouer sample gloss in the first box. I'll let you know if any of the other items stand out enough to deserve a solo review or an actual purchase. I think this whole Birchbox thing will grow on me over time.

Looking at all the subscription services mentioned above I think I probably should have joined the New Beauty Test Tube program. You get the magazine as well as samples from some of the top makeup and skincare brands out there. It's a little more expensive but I think it would be worth it. Maybe that's why I picked Birchbox... It looks like the least expensive of the major options.

Anyways, this was a really random rambling post but it had been a while since I last posted and I just thought I'd share!

Happy Friday!

    1. Hi Beauty, not a bad nickname since I don't know your real name :) Thanks for reading and commenting. I think in the long run Birchbox will be worth it. I know I won't love them all but if there is one great product in each box then it's probably worth most of the $10 price tag, yah know? I'm heading over to your blog now to check it out.
